Most marketplaces charge contractors a fee for every job they ask about, so they pass it to you or cut corners. Ours doesn't. You describe the work, local pros can see it, and Tim is in your corner from first quote to last walkthrough. Any quote you get, our AI reads it before you do.

Describe your job and put it in front of local pros. Free, and no account needed to start.

Bid the open board
free.

Every other marketplace charges you $20 to $100 every time a homeowner asks a question. They pass that cost to the homeowner. Or they hand the job to whoever paid most for placement, not whoever's best for the work. We don't. Our open board is free to bid, with no per-lead fees.

Other marketplaces
  • $20 to $100 per job, charged to you
  • That cost passed to the homeowner in the bid
  • "Featured" placement is paid advertising

[06]The five-question check

Every bid
answers five things.

Tim built our AI on five questions every bid should answer. They work on a multi-page contract. They work on a text-message price. Within each one, the AI flags everything it finds, not just five total.

[01]

The work

Is it clear what you're paying for? A two-line "fix the sink" is not the same as "replace P-trap, tighten supply lines, test for drip."

[02]

The materials

What brand, what quality? "Cedar" or "tile" or "drywall" is not an answer. The cheapest box on the shelf isn't either.

[03]

The price

Is it fair for your zip code, your scope, your season? Too high is obvious. Too low is the one most homeowners miss.

[04]

The timeline

Is the schedule realistic? Or is it a salesman number that sounds good until week four when nothing's done?

[05]

If it breaks

What happens after the contractor leaves? Warranty, callback policy, who pays for the rework. The line homeowners forget to ask about.

[07]About Tim
Tim, working California superintendent
TimFounder · Working super

Built by a superintendent.
Driven by purpose.

I worked my way up in construction from apprentice to superintendent. Every level of this trade is in my DNA. And every time people found out what I do, the questions started. At barbecues. In driveways. At family gatherings. Is this bid fair? Should I trust this guy? What does this line item even mean?

I noticed a pattern. Homeowners were signing things they didn't understand. Good contractors were losing jobs to lowballers because nobody could tell the difference. The playing field wasn't level. Nobody was leveling it.

So I built YouSuperIntendIT. Not to replace the contractor. Not to make homeowners suspicious of everyone. But to put a working superintendent in the homeowner's corner, and to give honest contractors a place to win the work they already earn.

Because everyone deserves a superintendent in the homeowner's corner.

[08]FAQ

Questions homeowners actually ask.

How is this different from Angi or Yelp? +
Most marketplaces charge contractors a fee for every job they ask about. That fee gets passed to you in the bid or makes good contractors avoid the platform. Ours doesn't. Contractors don't pay to be listed and they bid the open board free, with no per-lead fees. They pay a flat optional monthly fee if they want more volume. The Bid Check is also different. Other sites stop at finding you a name. We put a working super between you and the bid.
Is AskTim really free? +
Free. No sign-up. No credit card. We built it to be the friend who happens to be a working super. Ask anything. Get a straight answer. Free comes with a generous daily limit, and a paid pass lifts the cap if you need more. The Bid Check is the paid product. AskTim stays free.
What kinds of projects is this for? +
YSI is built for everyday homeowner projects. A new fence. A leaking sink. Drywall cracks. A bathroom floor swap. A front-door install. A water heater. Anything a regular person has no business doing themselves and wants an honest second opinion on before they hand over a check.
Does it work on a quote or estimate too? +
Yes. Bid, quote, estimate, proposal, whatever your contractor called it, the Bid Check reads it the same way. The word on the top of the page does not change what a working super looks for: is the work spelled out, are the materials clear, is the price fair, and what got left out. Upload any of them.
How does the Bid Check actually work? +
Upload whatever your contractor gave you. A photo of a one-page quote, a screenshot of a text message, a typed PDF, a handwritten note. Our craft-tuned AI reads it through the same five-question check a working super uses on a real jobsite. You get plain-English findings and the questions to ask before you say yes. $14.99 per check. No subscription. Results in under 30 seconds.
Where is this available? +
The Bid Check and AskTim chat are available nationwide across all 50 states. The marketplace is rolling out city by city, starting in Vacaville and Solano County, California. If your area isn't live yet, the Bid Check still works on any bid from any contractor anywhere in the country.
I work in the trades. What is in it for me? +
A free Apprentice profile that lets you bid on three projects per month at no cost. No per-lead fees on the open board. License number shown on your profile. No phone spam, no cold calling. Upgrade to Journeyman if you want unlimited bids. Tim built this because the legacy marketplaces stopped working for honest contractors and trades.
